CBSE Health and Physical Education Syllabus

In 2018 CBSE introduced Health and Physical Education as one subject which is mandatory for all CBSE-recognized schools.

As per CBSE HPE Manual

Class IX-X
i. Work Education (500)
ii. Health and Physical Education (506)
Class XI-XII
i. Work Experience (500)
ii. Physical and Health Education (502)
As the above subjects of internal assessment are being subsumed in Health and
Physical Education, so the schools should not allocate any period to these
above-mentioned subjects from session 2018-19 onwards. The same periods should
be allocated to Health and Physical Education.

Health and physical education is divided into four major strands or parts

Games and Sports – Strand 1
Health and Fitness Strand 2
Sewa Strand 3
Health and Activity Record keeping

Now Coming Back to No1 Strand Games Sports – Total Periods in a year -100 and total marks – 50

This strand is divided into several subheads as Athlete or swimming, team games, inning games, Net games, Target Games, Individual Games, and Adventure sports.

The second strand comprises fitness exercises and yoga. The Physical training aerobics and gyming is part of this strand

This strand comprises many things like event, sport meet, tournament, exhibition, fair, research, language club, eco club, government campaign, career counseling, model united nations TEDED club photography, etc.
